Ground School & Network Games

Tuesday, August 30th, 2005 at 7:58 pm

Ground school is coming along pretty well for all of us in CP23. This week is an exam week, we have exam on AGK, BAK, Performance Fundamentals, Grob types and Pre-Solo General… so we got our hands full on studying… some of the time anyways… besides that, a few of us in CP23 even got time to set up a network game and trying to out smart each other in the game… but being on a wireless network though, it means that lagging occurs quite often… but eventually everyone moved their laptop next to the router and simply plug their computer into it via cable… It is quite fun when 4 or 5 guys all cramped together in 1 room, trying to shoot at each other on their computer (remember, the room ain’t too big, so they can see what’s happen in each other screen)… Anyway, everyone is either off to study or off to playing games now, so I better get back to my study also. AGK exam is tomorrow.

Week 4 already!

Saturday, August 27th, 2005 at 3:23 pm

Well the week has passed by reeeeeeallllly quickly! Even tho it’s already been 3 weeks since we arrived, the amount of ground school we’ve covered has passed in the blink of an eye. We have already covered 5 exams in the 98 hours of ground school and 4 more lined up for next week! But admittedly it’s not all work and no play, you appreciate the time you do get off more and do fun things like go-karting or go for a night out in the City. A time with our lot will never fail to humour! It’s all about balance really and personally I think that’s very important. We should begin flying the week after next; we’re all itching to fly! When we arrived it was a bit of an anti-climax knowing we’d have a month of ground school before even touching a plane, but when you see the Cathay Learjet starting up and taxi past class, you’re instantly re-motivated what you’re doing it for. We’re looking forward to welcoming CP24 flight graders around this time next week; hopefully they will do well, as we all know how long it took to get to the flight grading stage… ‘Gah Yao!’ The Cadet Pilots of CP23 have bonded like glue since we met, it’s wicked! We pretty much help each other if one is struggling with anything. Besides, we all have the same ambition and goal in mind as well as the same train of humour, which probably makes us all so compatible with each other.
