CP21 Grad & Solo Flight

Wednesday, September 28th, 2005 at 8:55 pm

This past weekend was the graduation of the CP21 course, a lot of the management from CX came down to Adelaide for this special occassion. It was a lot of fun at the CP21 graduation ceremony, especially knowing that we will graduate in exactly 1 year time. Over the weekend, it was also the birthday of Wilson. We had a little celebration during our dinner with Peggy and Belinda. It was a fun night and all of us ate so much that we can barely move. Thanks Peggy and Belinda for inviting us out to dinner :O) Finally, for the past few days, a few of us (Chris, Wilson, Trevor and Peter) from CP23 had their first solo flight. We are all waiting for everyone to complete their solo before we will all jump into the “DUCK” pool! I am sure we will take some pictures of that and post it up here! Anyhow, enjoy some of the pictures that we have taken over the past weekend. I am sure you will like it. Also, if you wanna to check out the largest Jenga game ever, check out the following link, I am sure you will love it!

Cars, Japanese food and Exams

Sunday, September 4th, 2005 at 5:43 pm

Hello there! Well what a week! We’ve been busy with some exams this week, including Performance Fundamentals, Pre-Solo General, Basic Aeronautical Knowledge and Aircraft General Knowledge. Despite the exams, we welcomed good news that we have been assigned instructors and will begin our flying on Tuesday the 6th of September! Hopefully all will go smoothly and we will be able to go solo within a couple of weeks time, we will be sure to post some photos of the celebrations. We also welcomed our Cathay captain manager who briefed us about the year ahead of us and to make sure to work together, which we have been doing very well to date! Next week we will be alternate days for theory and flying, which is an excellent balance, we also have our Final Exams for AGK and Aerodynamics, wish us luck.

This weekend we have had a good time meeting the Cathay Finesse who do ground school and simulator training for their CAD exam conversions, they are great people to be with socially and hold a wealth of knowledge. We also had a excellent Japanese meal in North Adelaide (group photo see below). Chris and Wilson shared the cost of buying the second car, a 1986 Citron!! Classic! Jack and I have bought a Daihatsu Sirion 2000 model from an ex-cadet. Both these cars are manual! Good fun, finally we can go out together without getting a taxi which is so expensive compared to Hong Kong!

Tonight we’re going going for Grand Prix Go-Karting, should be fun and we will let you know who wins!!!

[Update: Toby w0n tonights Go-Kart Racing competition! Congratulations to Toby! Everyone had an awesome time at the race track and it was fun having CP-22, CP-23 and CP-24 flight graders coming out to the race track!!! If you wanna to check out the action, click on the following link for details!]
