Flight Graders & CXCP23 forum is now open!

Tuesday, April 18th, 2006 at 11:52 pm

They are here!!! All 10 of them… such a big group… even all the China Airlines people were asking why is it such a big group! Quite a few of them had their virgin flight tonight! They seem to be enjoying themselves, I wish them luck! I am sure they will do great!

Also, We have set up a discussion forum for cxcp23.com, see links on the right or click here, feels free to register and make your post on this forum. Your previous account that allow you to post remarks on this web-site will not work on the forum. I am trying to resolve that issue. If you can’t wait, you can simply register a new account and you can post on the new forum right away. Give us some feed back on how to make the forum better. Thanks for your help in advance.

Oh, one more thing, Wilson, Andrew and Toby also passed their Mod 5 GFT… now, only Trevor, Geoff and Chris remaining… they are schedule to have their test early this week but weather is kinda bad lately… it has been postponed a few times… I hope the weather will get better so that everyone can complete their flight test and move onto Module 6. Good luck to them! Anyhow, take care for now. Ciao

Mod 5… Mod 6 Duchess… Flight Graders!

Thursday, April 13th, 2006 at 12:44 am

As of today:

Jack, Peter, Toby and Wilson all passed their Mod 5 Hong Kong GFT flying test (Hong Kong CPL).
Andrew, Geoff, Trevor and Chris will be doing their test in the next few days. Wish them luck!

As for the Duchess, I just perform circuits today… it was an awesome aircraft to fly. Very easy to handle and very easy to land. The only thing is that it is a little bit hard to taxi but I am getting a hang of it pretty quickly. I think Jack is enjoying his time on the Duchess. Jack feels proud that he is finally flying an aircraft with more then 1 engine… also no more PFL!!! Wilson will start his Duchess tomorrow and Toby will start on Friday. This is all very exciting as we are all approaching the end of our training. Module 6 only consist of about 30.5 hours of flying & simulator time. It will goes by pretty quickly and before we know it, it will be ATPL and JTS time. Fun Fun Fun!

Flight graders, they are finally coming! All 10 of them will arrive this sunday… we heard a lot of rumors about them… aeronautical engineers, guys with CPL and frozen ATPL, more engineers… we are looking forward to meet them when they arrives. Congrats to all of them on getting this far into their interview process. Good luck!

CX104 & Mod 5 Check

Sunday, April 9th, 2006 at 8:10 pm

Today, Trevor (CP23), Chris (CP23), Leo (CP24), Kevin (CP24), Boris (CP24) and Me (Peter CP23), we drove Titus to the airport and send him off… Although, we might see Titus again in two weeks as he might return to Adelaide to complete his training or he might return to Canada. We will see how it goes… but no matter what he is going to do, we wish him luck!

On a happier note… Jack passed his Module 5 check today! Congratulations to Jack! Next up is me (Peter) on Monday, Wilson on Tuesday, Toby on Wednesday, etc… Module 5 check is the equalivant of CPL, we call it Hong Kong GFT… so everyone is flying hard and trying to prepared for this flight test, wish us luck! The requirement for the Hong Kong GFT is 70 hours of PIC (Pilot in Command) time, 20 SPIC (Student Pilot in Command) time, 30 hours of cross-country (must include 1 nav that is over 300nm with two intermediate stop and aircraft refuelling stop), 10 hours of instrument flights, 5 hours of night cross-country and 5 hours of night circuits. Most of us have way more then the requirements. Most of us should have around 180 hours by the time we completes Module 5. Anyway, wish us luck for our test. Take care for now. Ciao.

Titus is leaving

Thursday, April 6th, 2006 at 8:43 pm

This is just to keep everyone updated regarding the last post. Titus from CP23 will be leaving us on the Sunday, 9th April, 2006. It is definitly a sad day for everyone in CP23 and CP24. Everyone in the Cathay courses wish him well for his future career. Titus was a great friend and an awesome member of CP23. We will miss Titus weird sense of humor that keeps us laughing during ground school. His friendliness allows him to mix well with not only everyone in the Cathay Pacific courses but also members of the other courses as well. Everyone in CP23 will wish him luck in his future flying career. Keeps the dream going and never give up! Everyone in CP23 will want to see you again in the sky in the future!
